It wasn't all that long ago that Steve Waugh the Captain of the Australian Cricket Team was considered the "cat's pyjamas" in the world of cricket.

Now sadly he is being forced to retire - it has already been noted that his brother Mark is sadly missed by the decision to let him go - and I fail to see why Steve who has been one of Australia's most promising captains cannot continue on for a longer period.

I am not a cricket buff but I do enjoy listening to the cricket on my radio and from all accounts on listening also to various talk back shows  many fans would agree with me. 

By no stretch of the imagination do they or myself consider Steve should be left hanging in the air with regards to his future as a Test Player.
